Antonina Dorokhina

Institute Co-ordinator

Antonina is the Coordinator of THIS Institute, Department of Public Health & Primary Care. She is responsible for the coordination of activity that cuts across the four major teams in the Institute: Research, Thiscovery, Communications and Engagement, and Operations and Fellowships.

Antonina joined THIS Institute after moving to the UK in 2022. In addition to being a medical doctor, she has research and project management skills, and public health professional experience in a tertiary-level hospital (Kyiv, Ukraine).

Antonina has led quality improvement and wellbeing initiatives in communities and a variety of clinical settings, consultancy projects, and qualitative and mixed methods research studies in Ukraine. She also worked as an Assistant Professor at the Bogomolets’ National Medical University (Bogomolets’ NMU). She is one of the authors of the first ever textbook on Communication Skills in Medicine in Ukraine (2021).

Her academic qualifications include Honours degrees in Medicine and Mental Health (MD) from Bogomolets’ NMU (Kyiv, Ukraine), the International Master of Public Health (IMPH) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (Israel) and a Master of Social Work (MSW (Hons)) from the Academy of Labour, Social Relations and Tourism (Kyiv, Ukraine).
