Professor Ray Fitzpatrick

Ray is Professor of Public Health and Primary Care, University of Oxford, and Fellow and Dean, Nuffield College, Oxford. Prior to his appointment as University Lecturer in the University of Oxford in 1986, he worked in the Department of Neurological Sciences, St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical School, followed by Academic Department of Psychiatry, Middlesex Hospital Medical School, London. He has served on the Council of Medical Research Council, and as Chair of MRC’s Public Health and Health Services Research Board, as Chair, Office of Strategic Coordination of Health Research (OSCHR) Public Health Research Board, as Governor, BUPA Research Foundation and as National Programme Director NIHR, Health Services and Delivery Research.

Research Interests

Ray’s research interests relate to outcomes and experiences of health services for individuals with long term conditions.
