Dr Alex Georgiadis
Alex is a postdoctoral Research Associate. Funded by the Wellcome Trust, he works on a range of projects related to care quality and patient safety.
Alex has a Ptychio in Psychology from the University of Ioannina (Greece), an MSc in Counselling and Psychology from the University of Sheffield, a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling from the University of Strathclyde, and a PhD from the Peninsula College of Medicine & Dentistry (Universities of Exeter and Plymouth). Alex is an Honorary Fellow of Plymouth University Peninsula Medical School and at the Quality of Life Technology Lab, University of Geneva. Alex is a Research Associate at Homerton College, University of Cambridge. Alex was previously a Research & Commissioning Manager at Healthwatch Essex, a health charity that aims to gather and represent people’s experiences of health and care services to help improve them.
Alex’s main interests relate to care quality, patient safety research and the regulation of healthcare services. He is also interested in the role and function of information and communication technologies in healthcare and how such technologies can improve the quality of care that patients receive.
