Dr James McGowan
Academic Clinical Fellow
James is a specialty registrar in public health medicine in the East of England deanery and a National Institute for Health Research Academic Clinical Fellow at the University of Cambridge.
James completed undergraduate and foundation medical training in Edinburgh and Glasgow. He was previously a clinical fellow at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) and is an honorary clinical fellow to the National Medical Director at NHS England. He is currently a visiting researcher at the Cambridge Centre for Health Services Research and THIS Institute.
James holds a BMedSci (Hons) and MB ChB from the University of Edinburgh and a MPH from Harvard University.
James’ research interests are in the improvement of the quality, safety, organisation and management of health services.
