After four years with the Clinical Nursing Research Group within the Primary Care Unit, Alison’s role as PA/Senior Secretary to the Professor of Nursing transferred to THIS Institute in October 2023, when Jo McPeake took on the role upon the retirement of Christi Deaton.
Alison’s first career role was in the City of London, followed by working in Bavaria and later in New Zealand. After that, Alison worked for Anglian Water and then Cambridgeshire County Council, with ten years as their Education Inspectorate’s Office Manager/Team Coordinator, followed by ten years with roles as Nursery and Primary School Level 3 Teaching Assistant and Midday Supervisor, Children’s Centre Receptionist/Administrator, and Social Services Business Support Assistant. In between, when her daughter was young, she took the opportunity to be a self-employed Childminder.
