A passionate patient advocate, Angela has been a lay member of a number of national advisory bodies, steering groups and committees, including the REF2014.
After spending over a decade in the health related voluntary sector, she took up a variety of Patient and Public Involvement roles, mostly within the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR), for whom she continues to act as a lay reviewer, along with the BMJ. More recently she has worked as an independent consultant in patient involvement/engagement and is a member of both the NIHR Dissemination Centre’s College of Raters and its Cancer and Nutrition Collaboration. Angela has a long association with the Health Foundation’s Quality Improvement work and is a member of its College of Assessors.
