Dr Dominique Allwood is Chief Medical Officer & Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) Deputy at UCLPartners with expertise in clinical leadership, quality improvement and population health improvement.

Her focus is on clinical engagement across the partnership and with AHSN Clinical Executives in her role as AHSN deputy. She is also leading work on learning health systems and improving population health and inequalities through developing anchor institutions.

Dominique is an experienced medical leader and a consultant in Public Health Medicine. Her career in healthcare spans 18 years in leadership, management and advisory roles for provider and commissioner organisations, academic institutions, national bodies, management consultancy, charities and think tanks.

She joined UCLPartners from the Health Foundation where she led work on anchor institutions and the role of the NHS in improving health. During the pandemic Dominique was seconded twice to NHS Nightingale Hospital London where she co-led a team establishing a learning system and was subsequently Medical Director in the second wave.

Dominique holds a master’s degree in Public Health and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Public Health. She has previously undertaken a Darzi Fellowship in Clinical Leadership and served as a NExT Director on the Board of a large London teaching hospital.  She is Associate Editor for BMJ Leader Journal and is currently undertaking an Executive MBA at Henley Business School. She also continues her NHS role as Associate Medical Director at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
