Dr Sadia Khan

Consultant Cardiologist

Sadia is a Consultant Cardiologist with an interest in heart failure, atrial fibrillation, community cardiology and digital transformation and innovation. She is service lead for cardiology and has helped set up community heart failure services and improved care for heart failure patients. She has led nationally recognised work in atrial fibrillation care, with her work being adopted across London

Research Interests

Sadia has a keen interest in research and innovation and has been clinical lead in several studies, such as:

  • Clinical lead for test beds wave 2 – Developing a schedule for unscheduled care from October 2018 to October 2020. The project received £1.3 million in funding, with over 1000 patients recruited.
  • Clinical lead for heart failure project with Novartis which secured £140,000 in funding and was shortlisted for a HSJ Partnership Award in 2019.
  • Project lead for round six CLAHRC NWL Hounslow Community Atrial Fibrillation project from 2015 to 2020 which attracted over £350,000 in grant support and lead to a 17% reduction in stroke in the London Borough of Hounslow.

She also has a teaching role with Imperial College London, acting as a personal and academic tutor to a group of up to 25 undergraduates and supervising PhD, MD and MPH students.
