Consultant Nephrologist and General Physician, Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust

Dr Emma Vaux OBE DPhil FRCP is a Consultant Nephrologist and General Physician at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust where she is Clinical Lead, Berkshire Kidney Unit; Clinical Director, integrated medicine; and Medical Associate Director, patient safety. She is the clinical lead for the CKD work-stream, South East Renal Network. She has a research doctorate, Oxford University 2001. She is immediate Royal College of Physicians past Vice President (education & training) and Chief Examiner. She led on the development of the RCP500 Code of Conduct. She is a Health Foundation Generation Q Fellow and founding member of the Q Community.

Emma is Co-editor of ABC Quality Improvement in Healthcare and Associate Editor of Future Healthcare Journal. She is a member of the Centre for Sustainable Healthcare Sustainability in Quality Improvement Reference Group. She is a co-chair of the International Conference on Residency Education and The International Summit on Leadership Education for Physicians. She is an Associate Advisor with NHS Resolution. Emma was awarded an OBE for services to medical education in 2021.
