Jane K. O’Hara

Associate Professor in Patient Safety & Improvement Science, University of Leeds/Bradford Institute of Health Research.

Jane is an Associate Professor in Patient Safety & Improvement Science at the University of Leeds, and Deputy Director of the Yorkshire Quality & Safety Research Group at the Bradford Institute for Health Research.

After graduating in 1996, Jane spent four years working for the NHS in Scotland, before completing an MSc in Organisational Psychology at the University of Sheffield in 2001, and a PhD in organisational health psychology at the University of Nottingham in 2007. Since 2014, Jane has held a joint post between the University of Leeds and the Bradford Institute of Health Research. Jane has a broad range of research interests, including the involvement of patients in patient safety, how we measure quality and patient safety and improve services, and how to operationalize emergent patient safety theories and resilient healthcare approaches.
