Rohini’s work focuses on the generation of evidence to inform novel approaches for the management of type 2 diabetes in diverse global populations. A key aspect of this is comparisons of the comparative effectiveness of antidiabetic treatments in different ethnic and migrant populations to inform treatment guidelines tailored to the needs of different ethnic groups worldwide.
She previously completed a Sir Henry Wellcome Postdoctoral Fellowship examining ethnic inequalities in trajectories of diabetes risk factor control and outcomes across the health care pathway in the UK.
She is involved in collaborative work with Chiang-Mai University in Thailand and the APCAPS cohort study in India. She is also working as part of the OpenSAFELY collaborative on a range of COVID-19-related projects.
