Following the government’s announcement on 7 October that the Avoiding Brain Injury in Childbirth (ABC) pilot will be launching across 9 maternity units at NHS trusts, aiming to improve maternity outcomes for women and babies, THIS Director Mary Dixon-Woods joined BBC Woman’s Hour presenter Nuala McGovern and Gemma Barber, Maternity Education Lead at Liverpool Women’s Hospital to talk about the pilot, and how it aims to improve clinical practice, communication and care for women and families.
