THIS Institute, in collaboration with the Wellcome Trust Institutional Strategic Support Fund, invites applications from individuals who are driven to apply their skills in the area of improving quality and safety in healthcare.

Applications are invited from a broad range of disciplines including: law, philosophy, ethics, public policy, business studies, sociology, psychology, history, economics, and health services research. Those with a clinical background, including those in clinical training, are eligible for these fellowships.

These fellowships offer a career-boosting opportunity for exceptional individuals to lead high-quality studies that will advance the field, to join a supported community of improvement researchers, and to develop their research leadership skills.

Fellows will be based in and employed by a host department at the University of Cambridge. The host department must demonstrate that it can provide the appropriate support and environment for the fellow. A maximum of £75K is available for each fellowship, and may be used flexibly to cover all costs including salary and research expenses. Fellows will also be eligible to apply for research associate status at Homerton College, University of Cambridge.

“Any University of Cambridge department may apply to host a named fellow, but we’re particularly looking to support individuals seeking to apply the social sciences and humanities to the study of improving quality and safety in healthcare.” says Helen Lonergan, THIS Institute’s Strategic Operations Lead.

Applications close 30 January 2020, 12:00 GMT
