Senior Secretary/PA (Part-time/ Fixed term)

The Department of Public Health & Primary Care is seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Secretary/Personal Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative and secretarial support to the NIHR Cambridge Biomedical Research Centre Capacity Building Team and Professor Joanne McPeake.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you will manage diaries, coordinate meetings and travel, support research administration, maintain records and databases, and assist with financial and grant-related activities.

The successful applicant will have:

  • Proven secretarial and administrative experience.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines.
  • Experience of handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
  • A proactive and flexible approach to work, with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

This is a part-time position available at 17 hours (0.47 FTE) per week. The funds for this post are available until end of March 2028.

Location – Department of Public Health and Primary Care, Strangeways Research Laboratory, Worts Causeway, Cambridge CB1 8RN (approx 2 miles south of city centre).
